Parents can play many roles in sport: current or former athlete, coach, fan, motivator, or role model . A few studies have shown that family members may influence an athlete’s involvement and achievement in sport more than coaches. Parents also are the first and most critical agents at socializing sports.
1. What are the age cutoff dates for 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U?
The cutoff date for player ages is December 31st of 2022.
2. How long does the league season run?
The league season is April-June. Games will be played May-June.
3. How much does the league cost?
8U ONLY- $65 per athlete
All other age groups
$125 per athlete (Includes Shirt, Socks, umpire fees, and fields) Shared Helmets, bats and fielding masks can also be provided by League if needed.
$100 check for league concessions (Fully refunded after working shift)
$100 check for Eau Claire Classic concessions (Fully refunded after working shift)
4. What do I have to purchase separately?
Not included but required in league fee is pants, belt, softball glove and cleats.
5. What nights are league games?
Typically league games are Monday-Thursday
6. When are practice and game schedules available?
Practices and game schedules will be communicated out by coaches after teams have been selected. Game schedule meetings usually happen early/mid April
7. What is the difference between "League" and "Travel" softball?
While not universally true the basic difference is Travel ball has a higher time commitment, cost and competition. Eau Claire Fastpitch is for league teams. Eau Claire Fury is the travel team.
8. What is the Eau Claire Classic Tournament?
The Eau Claire Classic is one of the longest running Travel ball tournaments in the state. It is the major source of funding for both League and Travel softball in Eau Claire. This is why we ask help for this event that is critical to the program.
