1. What are the age cutoff dates for 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U?
The cutoff date for player ages is December 31st of 2024. The players age on or before that date determines a player's age group. For example, if a player is 8 years old on or before the cutoff date, they are automatically registered for 8U. When registering your player, the website may only give you one age group option to select . Please reach out to the league if your player wants to progress up to the next age group, as that option is not available on the online registration system.
2. How long does the league season run?
The league season is April through June. Games will be played in May and June on weeknights.
3. How much does the league cost?
8U ONLY- $100 per athlete. This fee includes: uniform jersey tops, socks, umpire fees, and field fees. Shared helmets, bats and fielding masks can also be provided by the league if needed. Also, every player receives a free slushy from our concessions stand after each game played at Jeffers Park!
All other age groups
$150 per athlete This fee includes: uniform jersey tops, socks, umpire fees, and field fees. Shared Helmets, bats and fielding masks can also be provided by the league if needed. Also, every player receives a free slushy from our concessions stand after each game played at Jeffers Park!
If a player wants to participate in the league, but financial barriers prevent them from doing so, please reach out to a board member for scholarship information. We want all players who truly want to play to have the ability to do so.
$150 deposit check for concessions is REQUIRED upon start of the season. This is returned to families immediately upon completion of participating in a concession stand 4-hour shift. The check must be given directly to the team parent, coach, or ECFP board member prior to the first game. For those who do not work a shift, their check will be cashed in mid-June. Please reach out to a board member with questions or concerns.
4. What do I have to purchase separately?
The league requires all players to purchase softball pants, a belt (if needed), softball glove, face mask, and cleats. A face mask is highly recommended for all defensive positions, and it is required to play infield. Shared catchers gear is available to all teams.
5. What nights are league games and where are they played?
Most league games are Mondays -Thursdays with an occasional Friday night game.
Eau Claire Fastpitch is affiliated with the Chippewa Valley Girls Fastpitch League, which creates a softball league with other local softball clubs and school districts. We try our best to schedule most games at the Jeffers Park Softball Complex, but there may be some away games to other local communities.
6. When are practice and game schedules available?
Practices and game schedules will be communicated by coaches after teams have been selected and games have been scheduled. Game schedule meetings usually happen early/mid April.
7. Will my child be on a team with friends?
We try our best to make our softball league as fun as possible. To do that, we try to pair friends together as much as we can when they are in the same age group. Please reach out to a board member and we will try our best to accommodate.
8. What is the difference between "League" and "Travel" softball?
Eau Claire Fastpitch assembles and coordinates league or recreational teams for new or returning athletes looking to learn the fundamental basics of the game, improve their skills, and to have fun.
Eau Claire Fury is the travel softball team which requires higher time commitment, cost, and competition level. Fury tryouts usually occur in July. Check back to our website or Facebook page after league concludes for the season to find out more information if your player is interested in playing competitive ball. Feel free to contact our Fury Coordinator, under the board members tab, with further questions.
9. What is the Eau Claire Classic Tournament?
The Eau Claire Classic is one of the longest running Travel ball tournaments in the state. It is the major source of funding for both League and Travel softball in Eau Claire. We ask for your help for this event as the success of this tournament is critical to the program.
10. How can I help Eau Claire Fastpitch?
We always need parent support for board positions, umpires, coordinators, coaches, concessions, etc. No softball experience is required for some positions. We hold board meetings once per month to organize upcoming events. Please reach out to a board member for more information. We need your help!
11. How do I sponsor a team, advertise on our field fences, or donate to the league?
We are a 501c3 registered non profit organization that is 100% operated by volunteers. We greatly appreciate donated funds to keep costs stable for players and to provide sponsorships to underserved families. Click here to sponsor a team, advertise on our field fences, or to donate. All sponsorships or donations will receive a receipt for tax records and recognition on our website.
